One famous tale involves these three when Thor's hammer was stolen by the giant Thrym.

The giant demanded Freya's hand in marriage in exchange for returning the hammer.

When Freya refused, Thor himself had to dress as her, with Loki's help, to infiltrate the giant's wedding feast and recover Mjolnir.
