Age of the Gods: Ruler of the Dead - Playtech Demo

Age of the Gods: Ruler of the Dead is a 5-reel, 25-line slot machine game developed by Playtech with the theme of Hades, the king of the underworld in ancient Greek mythology.

Hades was one of the three sons of the Titans Cronus and Rhea, brother to Zeus and Poseidon.

After the Titanomachy, when the three brothers defeated their father, they drew lots to divide the world.

Zeus received the sky and became king of the gods, Poseidon got the seas, and Hades was given the Underworld, becoming ruler of the dead.

Unlike popular misconceptions, Hades was not an evil god, but rather a stern and just ruler who maintained order in his realm.

He was often called "The Wealthy One" or "Pluto" in Roman mythology, as he controlled all the precious metals and gems found within the earth.

His realm, also called Hades, was divided into different regions, including Elysium for the blessed, the Asphodel Meadows for ordinary souls, and Tartarus for the wicked.

The most famous story about Hades is his abduction of Persephone, daughter of Demeter.

Struck by her beauty, Hades obtained Zeus's permission to take her as his wife.

He emerged from a chasm in the earth with his chariot, seized Persephone while she was gathering flowers, and brought her to the Underworld.

Demeter's grief over her lost daughter caused all vegetation on Earth to die, leading to the first winter.

Eventually, Zeus ordered Hades to return Persephone.

However, because she had eaten six pomegranate seeds while in the Underworld, she was bound to spend six months of each year with Hades.

This created the cycle of seasons - when Persephone is with Hades, Demeter mourns and winter comes; when she returns to her mother, spring and summer flourish.

Hades was known for his strict rules about life and death.

He rarely allowed the dead to return to the world of the living, though there were few exceptions.

When Orpheus came to retrieve his wife Eurydice, Hades was moved by his music and agreed to let her return, under the condition that Orpheus not look back until they reached the surface - a condition that Orpheus ultimately failed to meet.

Unlike the other Olympian gods, Hades rarely interfered in the affairs of mortals or left his kingdom.

He wore a helmet of darkness given to him by the Cyclopes, which made him invisible, and was accompanied by Cerberus, the three-headed dog who guarded the entrance to the Underworld.

Despite his fearsome reputation, Hades was one of the most reliable and consistent of the gods, maintaining the natural order of life and death.
